Design & prototype the interface for buying new bitcoins. It should be understandable for people who are not very knowledgeable about cryptocurrency.
Determination of the target audience:
Target audience is blurred, it’s not specific anymore and as a result – it is difficult to determine which specific user would like to buy cryptocurrency. The phenomenal growth of the bitcoin rate has significantly expanded the number of those who know (have heard) about the crypto, that is, our solution should be designed for the mass user.
Behaviors patterns:
According to the task, our user already has a certain amount of digital asset. According to the Jobs to Be Done methodology, I found out several patterns of behaviors:
- The consumer has a “job”: buy bitcoins.
- The consumer does not need to enter the exchange, he needs to increase his crypto assets within the framework of his habits (patterns).
- The consumer would be comfortable with such a process of buying a crypt, which would be similar to a regular bank transfer from a mobile application.
- It is important for the consumer to follow the exchange rate, to understand the size of the commissions.
Design & Prototyping tools:
At stage 1 I made a simple bank transfer scheme familiar to the user on paper:
1.selection of the card,
2.selection of the transfer amount,
3.confirmation of the operation,
4.successful screen.
At the 2nd stage I adapted this bank transfer scheme into the application sketch:
1.selection of the card,
2.selection of the transfer amount,
3.confirmation of the operation,
4.successful screen.
At the 3rd stage I designed layouts in Sketch app and ported them to InVision.
An Interview & Testing:
4 users in the age group 30 – 62 years old when testing a prototype in InVision were able to complete the task by “buying” bitcoins.
